 | You're scared of being found out or being called a grass. But that will never happen with Crimestoppers because nobody will know that you called Crimestoppers.
So don’t let anybody frighten or embarrass you into silence. Stand up and listen to your conscience. You’ll be doing what’s right without being made to feel in the wrong.
Below are answers to some frequently asked questions.
Q How do I know that my call is not being traced?
A Crimestoppers cannot use any tracing devices whatsoever including 1471.
Q What if the number appears on my phone bill?
A If you telephone from a land line or public telephone for free then the number will never appear on your phone bill.
Q Who am I talking to when I ring Crimestoppers?
A Your call is received by a trained Crimestoppers call handler who will take down your information and ensure that is passed on to the police.
Q What if my mates find out what I’ve done?
A The only way that anyone will know if you have called Crimestoppers is if you tell them. That’s the way it’s been for over 15 years since we began and in that time we’ve never once caused anyone to be found out. It’s not in our interests or yours. Without that trust we simply couldn’t exist. |

 | Even if you haven’t been directly affected by crime you don’t have to look far to see the problems it causes. And you may find it a lot closer to home than you think. It could be something as simple as a smashed-up phone box. It may be graffiti at your local bus stop. Or it could be a lot worse. Perhaps you’ve been mugged or a relative’s been burgled.
Either way, everyday someone in your community is counting the cost of crime. It could be your next door neighbour or someone closer.
Why wait until your nearest and dearest become another set of statistics before doing what you can to help take criminals off the streets?
Crimestoppers allows you to look out for your family, friends and keep your community safe without putting yourself at risk.
Crimestoppers are not part of the police. We do work with them, just as we work with businesses, the media and the local community for a common goal: a safer, fairer society. |

 | Of course it’s your life and it’s your decision. But if you do decide to act outside the law be ready to face the consequences. If you commit crime you could do time.
At the very least you’ll have a record.
And a record is a lot easier to get than to get rid of. It could seriously cramp your style - especially when you go on holiday. Countries all over the world are very strict on who they let visit these days.
Think carefully before you commit a crime. It will cause you alot of grief.
